People are starting to take notice of Madrid, Spain, as it becomes a modern center of European gay cool. With a population of 3.3 million, the Spanish capital Madrid is the third largest city in the European Union and thanks to the very progressive laws of gay marriage and anti-discrimination, approved by Spain’s government and parliament in 2005, Madrid has become one of the hippest Gay cities in Europe. In summer 2017, Madrid will finally host the large WorldPride. A fun week-long festival with hundreds of cultural, political and sports events, a Pride Village, a human rights conference, a program for families, and a lot more. The final parade in the center of Madrid is expected to attract about three million visitors.
