Amsterdam has lone of the largest European Gay Pride parades and perhaps the only parade on water. Making this city a real Top Gay Destination. Here we see the floats coming down the canal.

Top Gay Destination

Inclusion has always been a part of the culture in Amsterdam. There are gay bars, hotels, and clubs. There’s even a monument called the Homomonument, dedicated to gays and lesbians who lost their lives in World War II. Next to the monument is the Pink Point, the city’s official gay and lesbian information kiosk, staffed by local volunteers.

The Amsterdam Pride festival is one of the largest in Europe and attracts nearly 500,000 visitors each year. Dates for the usually between the last weeks of July and first weeks in August, with the parade itself taking place on the canals.  A must attend event. Truly Gaytacular!

Also, Amsterdam has one of the largest gay cruise club scenes in Europe.  Most cruise bars and fetish shops are located in the Warmoesstraat area.  These include The Web, Cuckoo’s Nest, Argos, Dirty Dicks, Eagle Amsterdam, etc. But obviously, gay cruising does not take place only inside the bars.  Over the years, several outdoor areas in/near Amsterdam have become known as popular gay cruising spots where men meet and have fun.

For who didn’t know Amsterdam is known for being the land of cheese, tulips and intriguing cafes. It’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t like Amsterdam, especially a gay man.

Must do’s & sees’s in Amsterdam

Top Gay Destination

Being a Top gay destination, means that there are alot of things to do in Amsterdam. Did you know that this city is famous for its many canals? Venice of the north, it’s sometimes called. Well, it’s certainly the easiest way to view the city. (Unless you fancy hopping on a bike instead.) A canal tour is therefore the perfect morning activity. Hop on and off tours are great, so you can spend an hour or so viewing this stunning city from the water.

Of-course, a trip to Amsterdam wouldn’t be complete without a cheese and wine tasting tour. Many tours are available. In which, they offer a try of different cheeses accompanied with different wines. Making this a truly authentic experience.

You might also, want to visit the museum quarter and check out the Van Gogh Gallery or Rijksmuseum, making sure to stop off to take a photo by the iconic I Amsterdam sign on your way. Don’t forget the moving Ann Frank House or the insightful Amsterdam Museum are a must. For some museums it’s worth booking before to avoid long queues, so research online before you arrive.

The Amsterdam Flower Market is another great thing to see whie in Amsterdam. It’s a  the perfect place to buy gifts for family before you bid farewell to the quirky, eccentric city that is loved by all.
