Amsterdam has lone of the largest European Gay Pride parades and perhaps the only parade on water. Making this city a real Top Gay Destination. Here we see the floats coming down the canal.
Inclusion has always been a part of the culture in Amsterdam. There are gay bars, hotels, and clubs. There’s even a monument called the Homomonument, dedicated to gays and lesbians who lost their lives in World War II. Next to the monument is the Pink Point, the city’s official gay and lesbian information kiosk, staffed by local volunteers.
The Amsterdam Pride festival is one of the largest in Europe and attracts nearly 500,000 visitors each year. Dates for the usually between the last weeks of July and first weeks in August, with the parade itself taking place on the canals. A must attend event. Truly Gaytacular!
Also, Amsterdam has one of the largest gay cruise club scenes in Europe. Most cruise bars and fetish shops are located in the Warmoesstraat area. These include The Web, Cuckoo’s Nest, Argos, Dirty Dicks, Eagle Amsterdam, etc. But obviously, gay cruising does not take place only inside the bars. Over the years, several outdoor areas in/near Amsterdam have become known as popular gay cruising spots where men meet and have fun.
