Planning a Holiday getaway, why not London? Since, London’s gay community is  well integrated. London, makes a great gay destination for the upcoming Holiday season. If your like me, some years, you need a break from my traditional celebrations. I love my family, but it can get a little much, year after year. So why not getaway this season? Gay London for the holidays!

Did you know that according to a 2014 YouGov survey, Londoners know an average of 8.5 gay men and 3.6 gay women. Though the second figure is surprisingly low in comparison to the first, both numbers are comfortably above the national average.

This capital has a diverse scene that varies in vibe according to location. Whereas many Soho drinking dens are young and buzzy, south London venues  tend to attract an older and more relaxed clientele. London also has an LGBT club night to suit just about every taste. Because London’s LGBT scene is so well-established and welcoming. Although, London’s LGBT scene isn’t all about drinking and dancing. The capital has countless queer sports teams, book groups, dining societies, business networks, coffee clubs and choirs. A quick Google search also reveals more unusual social gatherings ranging from ‘Gay and Bisexual Men’s Mindfulness Meditation Group in London’ to ‘London Dog and Dyke Walks’. Basically you should be able to find your tribe somewhere in London during the Holidays.

There’s nothing like the sparkle of London Christmas lights to give the city an instant festive makeover. Like enjoying the lights on Oxford Street, Covent Garden, Regent Street, Westfield etc. This is London at its most bling.

With Christmas lights and trees set to the backdrop of London’s stunning institutions, a trip to an ice rink is a must-do for the views alone.

An evening of Christmas carols is a surefire way to sprinkle some holiday spirit into the season. From grand affairs in majestic venues such as Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral to charity fundraisers with celebrity readings, London’s carol services are guaranteed to leave you with a warm glow.

….and if that won’t get you going, then there’s always  camped up panto to alt drag cabaret and music from the likes of the Gay Men’s Chorus. Gay Christmas events that should get you celebrating the festive season in no time.
